Our American Stories
Our American Stories tells stories that aren’t being told. Positive stories about generosity and courage, resilience and redemption, faith and love. Stories about the past and present. And stories about ordinary Americans who do extraordinary things each and every day. Stories from our listeners about their lives. And their history. In that pursuit, we hope we’ll be a place where listeners can refresh their spirit, and be inspired by our stories.

Washington Resigns His Commission, and Stuns the World
•
Host- Lee Habeeb
On December 23, 1783, then Commander in Chief of the Continental Army George Washington did something commanders of victorious armies didn't do: he resigned his military commission, and returned to his Mount Vernon estate as a private citizen. It may be the most important single act in American history, and the most selfless. West Point Historian Lt. Col. Sean Scully, Hillsdale College President Dr. Larry Arnn, and author David McCullough tell the story.
